I made this tiny waistcoat for little Rosa ,who was one in August .Fits her like a glove and wraps her up in love.

I was commissioned to make this dress for Athenie ,who sings and plays the fiddle in a great folk band called The Three daft Monkeys .She was 4 months pregnant and wanted a 50’s style dress with an expandable waistline, to go on tour with. She loved the dress and i think looks like a gypsy princess. I made about 40 gold lame’ roses and glue gunned them on !!

Arrrrrhhhhh……so sweet . Here is Rosa ,my god daughter wearing a cardigan i knitted for her, its inspired by a lemon ! it has little leaves on the ties .She can also be seen wearing ,(momentarily) a tiny flower headband also made by me, but thrown off by Rosa shortly after the picture was taken .

My clever daughter Martha painted my hand with henna in the summer , it lasted about 3 weeks .

A few years ago mum made me a kimono for my birthday, it has been in her workshop ever since waiting for her to silk paint it. And she finally did it! All the flowers were painted by hand onto the kimono.

A small selection of the headdresses i made and sold this summer at festivals. I was inspired by the self portraits of Frida Khalo ,she always wore something in her hair, and had such flair. These lovely ladies look pretty cool i reckon.

I painted in a gypsy style onto this lovely vintage silk waistcoat, its really rewarding painting old clothes, they are often so beautifully made ,which in turn leads me to paint with care and love. Not sure that i can sell this one, it just about fits me if i don’t do all of the buttons up !

more headdresses !

This is a dress made by Mari Hughes at Sows Ear Studio ,Its made out of an old linen shirt and still has the pockets and the buttons intact, I painted a simple flower motif on it , the photos don’t really do it justice„in a simple way it worked well.
